About Handi-Foam® Two-Component Foam

WHY HANDI-FOAM IS RIGHT FOR YOU!

Handi-Foam® Two-Component Foam is a chemically cured foam system.  It is generally used where a product is needed for filling gaps larger that your fist.  Two-component foam systems consist of an “A” component and a “B” component.  These two components mix in the nozzle of the dispensing unit, and the resulting foam cures much more quickly than one-component foams.  Handi-Foam Two-component Foams are available in a variety of densities.  Two-component foam systems will expand immediately upon chemical reaction of A-component and B-component to a final volume that is 3 to 5 times the dispensed volume, in typical applications, and may be as much as  8 times the dispensed volume in specific applications, depending on various factors such as cavity size, ambient conditions, etc. The foam will cure to a semi-rigid closed cell foam upon the chemical reaction of component A (polymeric isocyanate) with component B (a polyol blend containing certain additives) and carries an R-Value of 6 to 7 per inch (.02w/m.k).   Handi-Foam Two-Component Foam is tack free in less than 60 seconds and cures completely in 2-5 minutes.  Cured foam can be trimmed, sanded and/or painted.   It is different from Handi-Foam® One-Component Foam since is relies on moisture to cure the bead and is generally used for bead sizes smaller that your thumb.   Handi-Foam® One-Component Foam is a UL classified sealant.  It can be used to economically insulate, seal, bond, fill and stop air infiltration.  One-Component foams cure when moisture in the air reacts with the chemistry of the foam.  All one-component foams meet ASTM E-84 flame spread requirements for caulks and sealants. Handi-Foam One-Component Foam is tack-free in less than 10 minutes and cures within 24 hours.  Handi-Foam One-Component Foams cure to in-place densities between 1.0 and 1.5 lb. per cubic foot (16 - 24 kg per cubic meter) and carry an R-value of 4 to 5 per inch (.03 w/m.k).  Cured foam can be trimmed, sanded and/or painted.  These Handi-Foam® One-Component Foam products can not be obtained on this site at this time, but can be by calling 888-TRY-DIAMond during M-F, 7:00 am through 6:00 pm)

Typical applications include:

  • filling cracks and voids
  • sealing around HVAC units
  • filling gaps around pipes
  • filling gaps behind electrical outlets
  • sealing cracks at wall and floor joints
  • fixing small holes and other damage
Quality You Can See
Fomo Products Inc. closed cell formula has very few air pockets. This makes the foam both sturdier and more effective, keeps the insulation from absorbing moisture (which in turn helps inhibit mold growth), and stops air transport. Two part foam kits are formulated with an A chemical and a B chemical. This allows are products to be tack free in as little as 30 seconds, and completely cured in just 3-5 minutes. Once cured, all foams may be sanded or cut as desired.
Fomo's Closed Cell Foam

Their Open Cell Foam

Other Foams Don't Compare
Open cell Formulas, such as those used by many of our competitors appear sponge like, with large air pockets throughout. This makes them softer & more vulnerable to damage, lets them absorb moisture, takes away from their insulating power, and can allow mold growth.
